She hath done... - 19 July 2008

Saturday 5 July's programme by Radio Khwezi's Samkelo Shoba was indeed refreshing and challenging. That day Samkelo featured a team from Emthaleni Centre, consisting of the leader of the work, Sipho Zondi, and two young men, Chris Sithole and Bheki Shabalala.

Over the airwaves one could feel the passion that these men have for souls. Apart from many activities at the centre teams from Emthaleni to reach out to the community, amongst others, visiting schools and the bereaved.

A new development in Mthaleni's ministry that fitted in with Samkelo's programme is the opening of doors to minister to the police and prisoners at various stations.

What moved me most was to hear that it is actually an old lady, Chris's grandmother, who has a special burden for the police and prisoners. She does the knocking at the doors of police stations. When the doors open she ushers in the young people to do the preaching.

Granny Sithole's action reminded me of those precious words that were uttered by our Lord,

"She hath done what she could" (Mark 14:8)
