PRICE HIKES
The unexpected food crisis is sending shock-waves around the world. The United Nations
Organisations, World Bank, IMF and other world bodies are convening urgent meetings to map
out strategies to confront this dilemma.
In South Africa, steep rises in the prices of food, fuel, electricity ... (the list
goes on) are being absorbed with alarm, disbelief and even anger.
Whilst the emphasis is on how the price hikes are going to hit the poorest of the poor
the hardest the truth is that they will affect everyone in one way or another.
In a special way, my heart goes out to ministries like KwaSizabantu Mission whose
monthly costs as it is are beyond the imagination of most of us. Many of us might feel
limited in what we can do about the situation but it was impressed on me today that the
one thing we can ALL do is - pray.
Let us pray and ask God if in and through this crisis He has a message for His people
and the world.
Let us pray that the Lord will raise 'Josephs' amongst us who will receive divine
revelation as to what course of action should be followed.
