As you pray -15 June 2009

My dear friends

We have been receiving encouraging reports from the French team (Louis-Michel Fillatre, Marius Verne, Louis-Bernard Bouzerand and his daughter, Pauline) that is presently ministering in the Caribbean island of Martinique. We thank God for His working. Let us pray for the team as they round off and fly back home.

Our prayers are with Peter Wenger and his son Philemon who left Switzerland on Wednesday for Poland and the Czech Republic. They are on a 10-day ministering visit.

My thoughts were also with Hans Koller and the brethren in Romania this past weekend. Maria Besenszky had requested prayers for the youth conference at Voiteg. May God do a lasting work in the hearts of young people.

Yesterday was a special day at KwaSizabantu. It was with thankful hearts that we glanced back and once again marvelled at what God has done since 14 June 2008. That day we had to watch from outside as the fire razed our auditorium to the ground. In less than a year we witnessed the miracle of restoration of God's house - more beautiful than before. Our joy knew no bounds.

Mthetho Simelane and Gabisile Buthelezi had the privilege of being the first couple to get married in the new auditorium yesterday. Again, we wish them God's blessing.

June 16 is Youth Day in South Africa. There will be many events throughout the country to mark the day

Bongani Gina requests prayers for the youth meeting that he has organised for tomorrow in Enseleni, Richards Bay. He has invited Doctors for Life, True Love Waits, TNT and Radio Khwezi to address the youth. The local political leadership is also expected to attend.

Land Of Eternal Spring

The former president of Columbia Bible College in South Carolina, J. Robertson McQuilkin, pointed out that God has a wise purpose in letting us grow old and weak:

“I think God has planned the strength and beauty of youth to be physical. But the strength and beauty of age is spiritual. We gradually lose the strength and beauty that is temporary so we’ll be sure to concentrate on the strength and beauty which is forever. And so we’ll be eager to leave the temporary, deteriorating part of us and be truly homesick for our eternal home. If we stayed young and strong and beautiful, we might never want to leave.”

Have a blessed week.

Pressing on!
