As you pray -4 May 2009
Radio Khwezi covered the Mighty Men
Conference that was hosted by Shalom Ministries in Greytown the other weekend (24-26
April). We heard MrAngus Buchan challenge men about the quality of their relationship to
God. There were also testimonies of men about the impact the services had had on them.
In an interview just prior to the
conference Mr Angus Buchan told of letters from thankful wives who testified that what
they got from the conference were the men they had married so and so many years. Touching.
There was a scare on Saturday afternoon
when news broke through that Mr Buchan had collapsed because of a heart attack or a
stroke. The family has since insisted that it was not that serious. Seemingly fatigue and
heat were the culprits.
Shalom Ministries will value your
prayers.
Yesterday Onkel Erlo shared with us
that it is going well with Onkel Friedel and the team in Europe. We thank God and pray on.
On Sundays teams from KwaSizabantu
drive to different out-stations to take services. Onkel Erlo mentioned yesterday that
seven cars had gone out with teams in the morning. Let us remember the work at the
out-stations.
Let us pray on for the TNT
team that is ministering in the East Rand this week. Joseph Greyling sent a message to
inform us that they had their first service in Boksburg. This morning they were due
to start addressing schools.
Even though TNT's focal point is informing people, especially the youth, about the
dangers of drug abuse the message of full salvation and liberation in Christ
completes the picture.
Gideon Jacobs requests
prayers for a series of services that he has been invited to conduct at the Jamestawn
Dutch Reformed Church. The first service was yesterday and the last one will be on
Thursday evening.
We have just have just had a pleasant surprise.
My German physiotherapist, Annegret 'Chefin' Hauptmann took three weeks off her practice
in Bavaria in order to visit us. Zazi Hlongwane and Phindile Mdunge are doing excellent
physio work; Annegret's professional touch will benefit them further. May this be a time
of being a blessing and being blessed.
Sunday 10 May is Mother's
Day. Thank God for our mothers. May God bless them.
Here are two
profound quotes on mothers:
"No
man is poor who has had a godly mother."
Abraham Lincoln
"The
hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world."
The body that runs
Radio Khwezi, the Inkanyezi Yokusa Radio Association, has scheduled the 2009 Annual
General Meeting for 16 May. Remember us as we prepare for the important occasion.
Our
thoughts are with CFT-Switzerland as they prepare for their Annual General Meeting on
Sunday afternoon, 17 May.
Thursday 30 April was a special day for
Uncle Keith and Aunt Tish Kelly. They celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary.
You will remember
the Kellys as the couple who for years have taken it upon themselves to prepare
me fresh carrot juice on a daily basis. Uncle Keith is gifted with his hands. Whenever
there is a need in the house he is more than willing to help us.
The Kellys are originally from
Johannesburg; that is where they met Ross and Margot Brownrigg who later led them to
the Lord.
On Thursday Uncle Keith and Aunt Tish
made their special day very special for me. They paid me a visit to share about a
wonderful experience they had in 1979.
As new Christians they
were seeking a closer walk with the Lord. A stone that weighed heavily on their hearts was
the fact that their marriage of 10 years was just not working out. That is how they
landed at KwaSizabantu in 1979.
One day during their visit
they walked down the valley, found a spot and sat down. And then it
happened. Suddenly they noticed how their hearts were filled with a new love for each
other. They realised that their new love went beyond human love; it was love from God
Himself.
I was moved by the
striking words the Kellys used to sum up their experience. They said, "God
married us."
Thirty years down the line
we know that the Kellys' experience was not a superficial short-lived warm feeling.,
Most of us are aware of the importance of God marrying the unmarried but the picture of
God marrying the married was too precious for me.
Just imagine how many
marriages would be saved and enhanced by such an experience.
Have a blessed week.
Pressing on!
In His love
