As you pray -30 March 2009

My dear friends

Jean-Pierre Coulin sent me a challenging report on the AGM of The Family Association (ADF) and CFT-France.

Here is an excerpt from Jean-Pierre's report,

"The main topic was a project of law by the government which will grant civil
rights on children to a third person beside the father and the mother. In
family divorced, where one parent is now living with another person, this
third person has no right to sign official paper for the children. The
project of law plans to grant this third person the same right than the
biological father or mother. In the project of law, they do not mention
"father" or "mother", but only "parent", so that they include same sex
couple. The homosexual lobby is very happy with this project, because it is
a great success toward children adoption by homosexual.

The project should be discussed at the Parliament end of March or in April.
We call Christians to write letters to the President and the Parliament.

Thank you for your prayers.

Greetings from Hans Koller in Romania. The challenge they are faced with at Voiteg Mission is to have buildings that meet the requirements of the education department by 31 May. In that way they would be able to launch their new school in autumn. Your prayers will be appreciated.

Once again, we thank God for the many opportunities for ministry through Radio Khwezi. One of them is the Listeners' Club.

It warms the heart to see how Biblical values are shared and promoted in a practical way; loving and trusting God, loving your neighbour, respect, hospitality ...

There was great excitement and constructive talk on Saturday when a a new branch of the Masibumbane Listeners' Club was inaugurated at KwaMbonambi, Northern KwaZulu-Natal.

We had reason to rejoice yesterday when Onkel Erlo gave us an update on the restoration of the auditorium. By the end of this week or the beginning of next week the auditorium should be ready for use. The first service of the Easter weekend on Friday evening is due to be held in the auditorium.

Michael and Barbara Mueller from Germany have just come by. They are part of the many friends from overseas who have started arriving for the Easter services and the dedication of the auditorium.

We are also expecting the Eurochoir join us. It is our prayer that the Lord will be glorified in every way.

As the Easter weekend draws near one is struck by the number of announcements for services. It is generally accepted that South Africans are a religious people; up to 70-80% profess Christianity. Just imagine the impact on South Africa and beyond if all those who identify themselves as Christians would be true followers of Christ. Let us pray that superficiality will give way to depth.

'Christ without the Cross?

Theologian H. Richard Neibuhr condemns cross-less Christianity whether it is promoted by liberal Protestantism or the evangelical "feel good", seeker-sensitive churches. It is a false gospel in which "A God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a Cross."

There is no Christianity without the Cross.

Quote by Richard Neibuhr'

Have a blessed week.

Pressing on!

In His love

Fano Sibisi
