As you pray -18 November 2008
On Sunday Onkel Friedel gave us a
moving account of the recent trip to England with the Eurochor. He painted a clear
picture of what happens when a people forsake God. Church buildings are not only turned
into empty monuments but some of them are used for diabolical activities.
On the other hand, we saw a remnant of
those whose hearts have a deep yearning for God's presence and fresh working.
What Onkel Friedel said about
churches reminded me of a sight that broke my heart. A church had been turned into a
business named - of all names - Antiques and Bygones.
Greetings from Jean-Pierre in France.
He shared with me that CFT-France is part of the main evangelical exhibition
(16-18 November) which brings together various Christian organisations and missions.
Isabelle Coulin, Isabelle Moret and Andre Bocquet are seeing to the CFT stand. This
time the issues that CFT is focussing on are euthanasia and pornography on the internet
and cell phones. May the Lord grant us the grace always to be on the side of His
truth.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the
Eurochor as they prepare for Christmas concerts in different countries.
The singing of the Cedar College of
Education Choir on Sunday had a tinge of seriousness to it. Another group of fourth year
students from different countries have come to the end of their studies. As they
return to their homes and seek future direction we pray that the Lord will go before them.
Keep praying for Gideon Jacobs and
the Smithfield ministry. It is encouraging to see how doors are opening to them.
On Sunday Gideon was invited
to preach in a Dutch Reformed Church in Venterstad, Eastern Cape. Another team took
services on farms in the Bloemhof - Hoopstad.
This coming Sunday Gideon and a
team are invited for services on a farm in the Ladybrand area.
Have a blessed week.
Pressing on!
In His love
