As you pray -14 November 2008
We are thankful that Onkel Friedel and
Tante Rita are back safely from Europe. Some of the brethren shared with me what a blessed
time they had around God's Word.
Jan de Bruin and CFT-Netherlands are
looking forward to their CFT-Day tomorrow in Bodegraven, near Gouda. The theme of the day
is "Stop... everything is possible." Scheduled speakers include Ferny
Jaegle, Johan Huibers, Peter van Kleef and representatives from True Love Waits and the
Mediagroup Genesis. Your prayers will be appreciated.
Greetings from Limburg. Klaus Deis
shared with me briefly about their ministry amongst students, mainly foreign ones. Let us
remember them.
Helmut Krohmann requests that we pray
for an evening service in Ansbach with Ferny Jaegle that is planned for 26 November.
Here is an erxept from Karen van
Eeden's report on what her husband, Dr Albu van Eeden, and the Doctors for
Life team are experiencing in Angola,
'"God is good and
faithful! Thank you so much for your prayers! I had such wonderful news from Albu
and have to share it with you. I asked him, what is the reaction of the patient like, one
who could not see and after the cataract operation, suddenly can see!!?
This was his reply: There are
such wonderful testimonies of people being so grateful that once again they would be able
to read their Bible. Katarina an 80 year old woman was the cherry on the cake! She is just
skin and bones and is half my height. After the operation we advised her to keep on her
eye pads. What happened next? One of our team saw how Katarinas son had come to
fetch her by bicycle. She got onto the front and that is how she got a lift home! Once the
eye pads were removed her reaction was, now I will once again be able to walk to church
without any help! Praise God that these lives could be touched in this way!'
Sanet de Wet from Moreson in the
Western Cape has been invited to a church in Hawston, near Hermanus. She is to
address two youth meetings tomorrow. Her husband, Ds Theuns de Wet, has been asked to
preach on Sunday. They will value your prayers.
Radio Khwezi is planning to host a
major function on Saturday 22 November, the end of the year celebration of the Masibumbane
Listeners' Club. It is our prayer that in the joyous occasion the Lord will be glorified.
Preparations for the KwaSizabantu Youth
Conference (7-14 December) have begun. Spiritually and logistically the conference is a
big challenge. Your prayer support will be appreciated.
Hanna Pretorius sent me a story from
eSermons that struck a chord with her. I was touched and challenged.
'Let Us Show
Thanks in Our Example
An international gathering of youth met for a
full week to discuss how better to promulgate Christ's message to the world. Those
assembled for the conference read many informative essays, heard many fine speakers,
watched a few videos, and had ample time to discuss with each other. As the conference was
beginning to break up and the those attending were packing to leave, a young woman from
East Africa arose and said, "In my country when we hear that a pagan village is ready
to accept the Gospel we don't send books, videos, a Bible or even an evangelist. Rather we
send the best Christian family we can find because we have found that the example of a
good family speaks louder and more clearly than all the books, speeches, and videos in the
world."'
Have a blessed weekend.
Pressing on!
In His love
Fano Sibisi
