This morning in his introduction Onkel Erlo gave a brief update on
the services in Europe. I was glad to hear that. Many of us are accompanying Onkel Friedel
and the team in prayer. They were in France this weekend; now they will be travelling on
to Germany. We pray on.
Greg Gordon from the Canada-based ministry SermonIndex gave an address at the CFT
Conference last weekend. The stated aim of SermonIndex is "Promoting Genuine Biblical
Revival."
As part of the means to reach their objective SermonIndex arrange
Revival Conferences. Greg has requested that we pray for the two upcoming conferences:
October 21-23 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and
November 25-27 in Greenock, Scotland.
Another moving prayer request came from Jenny Hals, a friend
from the Church of the Nazarene in Santa Rosa, California. Jenny writes,
"I'm
writing to ask you for your prayers for the State of California and our Nation as a whole.
As I'm sure you know, our Presidential Elections are coming up in November. And California
is voting on homosexuals right to marry and for marriage not to be
recognized only between a man and woman. If this were to pass it would be
a HUGE change! Our children would now be taught in schools that same sex marriage is a
good and normal way of life for some. Our churches and Pastors would face persecution and
even jail time for "hate speech" if they preach against it.
Christians from all over are joining together in prayer. We must pray to see God's
design for marriage honored. This is one of the most critical times for California
and the USA. Would you please join us? We can use all the prayer we can get right
now!"
Bongani Zondi, Thokozani Mbanjwa, Petros Mthalane, Esther Mkhize and Octavia
Mtshali left for the Malelane Centre in Mpumalanga this morning. This team will be
assisting with preparations for the Youth Conference that is scheduled for 26-28
September. They will be visiting schools in the region and holding services in
various places. Getting a conference involving big numbers going in Malelane is a mammoth
task. Your prayer support will be appreciated.
A story that I found in eSermons is a beautiful illustration on
forgiveness.
'Forgiven: Too Poor to Pay
When the books of a certain Scottish doctor were
examined after his death, it was found that a number of accounts were crossed through with
a note: "Forgiven--too poor to pay." But the physician's wife later decided that
these accounts must be paid in full and she proceeded to sue for money. When the case came
to court the judge asked but one question. Is this your husband's handwriting? When she
replied that it was he responded: "There is no court in the land that can obtain a
debt once the word forgiven has been written."'
Pressing on!
In His love
