As you pray -20 June 2008

My dear friends

I was glad to hear from Janetta Pienaar that last weekend's services by Herbert and Mientjie Reimer in Paraguay were blessed. Thank you for the prayers.

In the aftermath of the burning down of the auditorium you can imagine what some of the practical implications are. Important decisions have to be taken about the way forward. May the Lord guide those who are involved in the process.

Our hearts go out to the Pienaars and Van der Watts, the two families who lived in the rooms adjacent to the auditorium. The fire was so fierce that there was virtually no time to take anything out.

To me, it sounded like a shout of victory when it was announced that in spite of the absence of the auditorium the Youth Conference (30 June to 7 July) will be held as planned. Amongst other aspects, this is a big logistical challenge. Your prayer support will be appreciated.

Our prayers are with Dr Albu and Karen van Eeden who flew to the Cape yesterday for weekend services. Onkel Friedel is due to join them tomorrow.

We shall be thinking of Radio Khwezi and the Masibumbane Listeners' Club as they will be doing a presentation in Ladysmith tomorrow.

So, our Driesie, Andries van Tonder will be getting engaged to Lisa Sutherland on Sunday. We wish them God's blessing.

Dr Ilsa Vermaak of Cedar College of Education requests prayers for their 3-week outreach to Botswana with the 4th year students. They will be guests of our British missionary friend, John Walters, and the mission. Accompanying the students will be Ilsa, Tobie Vermaak, Jan Pienaar and Andries van Tonder. Most of the group leave tomorrow and will stop over at Phelindaba Mission, just outside outside of Pretoria.

Interesting saying

It was the first time that I heard the following saying during Radio Khwezi's Afrikaans hour,

"As frightened as a lion in a den full of Daniel."

What a mighty God we serve!

Have a blessed weekend.

Pressing on!

In His love
