As you pray -29 April 2008
My dear friendsKjell and Margrit Olsen are thankful for the blessed time that
they are having with the brethren in Romania. May they be a blessing and be blessed as
they round off their trip in Europe.
From Bielstein's children ministry,
Sunny-Way, Ismael Klein requests prayers for the 'Sunny-mobil' action which starts on
Saturday, 3 May. He says that they will be going around in a truck and staging the play
"Das verlorene Schaf" (The lost sheep - Luke 5:4-7). The aim is to show children
how the devil gets it right to defile their hearts and how they can
get them clean again. The next performances are planned for 7 June.
At a recent Radio Khwezi management meeting Sindi
Kunene requested prayers for the telephone help-line ministry. Listeners are making use of
the counselling service and there are moving testimonies of God's working in people's
live.
One of the True Love Waits team members
that did presentations in Secunda last week, Robyn Spencer, would like to thank us
for the prayer support. It is touching to see how TLW young people as
they spread the abstinence message become aware of the need for the Good News of
salvation to be preached far and wide.
Robyn has asked that we pray for the ministry at
Adullam Mission in Mpumalanga.
TNT's Joseph Greyling and the team are thankful
for the presentations in Newcastle and Richards Bay last weekend.
TNT requests that we pray for the team that
is ministering in Escourt from today, Tuesday, till Thursday, 1 May. Bongani Zondi,
Richard Cebekhulu and part of team in Escourt. Nomusa Hadebe, a teacher in the area, is
the main organiser.
Even though Ascension Day is no longer an
official holiday in South Africa, CFT is encouraging Christians to keep its
commemoration alive within churches and the public at large.
CFT in KwaZulu-Natal is organising a special Ascension Day event in Durban to raise
awareness of this important day.
We are aware that this year Ascension Day coincides with Workers' Day on 1 May it is our
prayer that the Lord will bless His people as they will be coming together in
services around the globe.
The unexpected food crisis is sending shock-waves
around the world. The United Nations Organisations, World Bank, IMF and other world bodies
are convening urgent meetings to map out strategies to confront this dilemma.
In South Africa, steep rises in the prices of
food, fuel, electricity ... (the list goes on) are being absorbed with alarm,
disbelief and even anger.
Whilst the emphasis is on how the price hikes are
going to hit the poorest of the poor the hardest the truth is that they will affect
everyone in one way or another.
In a special way, my heart goes out to ministries
like KwaSizabantu Mission whose monthly costs as it is are beyond the imagination of
most of us. Many of us might feel limited in what we can do about the situation but it was
impressed on me today that the one thing we can ALL do is - pray.
Let us pray and ask God if in and through this crisis He has a message for His people and
the world.
Let us pray that the Lord will raise 'Josephs'
amongst us who will receive divine revelation as to what course of action should be
followed.
Have a blessed week.
Pressing on!
In His love
Fano Sibisi
