As you pray -19 April 2008
My dear friendsAnother encouraging e-mail came from our Dutch brother Frans
Gunnink. He wrote from Belgium where he was accompanying Philip Bell from Creation
Ministries International who is on a speaking tour. Frans says it is the fourth time that
CFT and the Working Group on Genesis have organised such a tour. May the light of God's
truth dispel the darkness of deception and ignorance.
The brethren in Paris were glad to have Gideon
Jacobs with them for some days. Gideon will be travelling to Switzerland for the European
Ministers' Conference. From Europe he will be flying to the USA for services.
Today I received a prayer letter from our
missionary friends in Senegal, Jose and France-Lise Oliveira. They have much to thank and
praise God for. On the other hand, the devil does not sit quietly when his works are being
destroyed. As the Lord reminds us let us remember the Oliveiras and the ministry in
Senegal.
It was a joy to hear from Oom Tienie and Tannie
Elize Loots of Potchefstroom in Northwest. During my visits to this family I realised that
they have a special heart for mission work. Their son Pieter is labouring in the Lord's
vineyard in Malawi and their daughter Marelet is in the Middle East. Let us remember
this family and the ministries in which they are involved.
For those who are following developments in
Zimbabwe since the elections three weeks ago there should be no doubt that there is a
serious crisis in that country. Some of you might have seen messages from distraught
Zimbabweans pleading for prayers and support. May God have mercy.
Because of a correction I had to make I am
including my daughter's story again. S'ne is a big girl but she will only be turning 12 on
5 May.
When I open my eyes in the morning one of the
first objects I just have to see on the wall before me is a message that
is written in bright-coloured block letters. I was moved to see that
our youngest daughter S'ne after seeing me ill for the last 7-8 years of her
soon-to-be 12 years of life still has the audacity, no, the faith, to write to me - GET
WELL SOON.
Have a blessed weekend.
Pressing on!
In His love
