It is wonderful to be back home.
Thank you very much for all the prayers. For the way ahead I need your ongoing prayer
support. Most human medical interventions have two sides; they solve problems on the one
hand but are accompanied by uninvited side effects.
Our thoughts are with our Frontline Fellowship brethren in
Cape Town. Here is an excerpt from their recent e-mail:
"Please pray for the upcoming Reclaiming Africa for Christ Biblical
Worldview Summit (BWS) commencing at Franschhoek, this Friday 29 June. We already have 110
people registered from 14 countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Kenya, Cameroon,
Australia, Romania, Canada, Malawi, the Ivory Coast, Zambia, Zimbabwe, the USA and from
all over South Africa.
The week long Biblical Worldview Summit (29 June 6 July) includes a Conference
within a Conference with the Christian Action Network Conference overlapping on Tuesday 3
July. As so many ministry leaders, missionaries and pastors affiliated with the Christian
Action Network will be participating in the BWS, in order to make the most of the
opportunities, considering the tremendous distances travelled and expenses involved, the
CAN Conference has been integrated into the BWS programme."
Jerusha and Eugen Olsen flew down to Cape Town on Thursday
evening to be part of the summit.
Sanet de Wet requests that we pray for her husband, Ds
Theuns de Wet, George Ochse and Gerhard le Roux who have been invited to an important
Church Council meeting of the VGK in Malmesbury, Western Cape.
The KwaSizabantu Youth Conference starts tomorrow. This
time, in the aftermath of the national strike by public servants, there are special
challenges. Your prayer support will be appreciated.
We are also thinking of the brethren in Bobigny, Paris, as
they have a special school function today. Dr Peet Botha will be the Guest of Honour.
The German CFT leadership meets in Bensheim today. May the
Lord lead and guide them.
Georg Grau and Benno Neufeld will be flying to Riga, Latvia,
for services from tomorrow, Sunday to Wednesday. Our prayers accompany them.
Is this the question?
Today I was reminded of a story that was told by the
well-known German youth pastor, Wilhelm Busch. He would sometimes be surrounded by young
people who fired all kinds of questions at him.
One day a young man approached him and asked who Cain's wife
was. Instead of answering the question Pastor Busch asked, "Young man, is this the
question that worries you so much that you cannot sleep at night?" As it turned out,
the young man's real problem that robbed him of his sleep was the dilemma he had brought
upon himself by making his girlfriend pregnant.
"Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is
it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" (Matthew 22:1)
Have a blessed weekend.
Pressing on!
In His love
