As you pray - 10 March 2007
Many hearts are full after attending
the celebration of 40 years of revival at KwaSizabantu (March 2-4) and the Ministers'
Conference (March 5-7). It felt like a long spiritual feast. The blessed days are behind
us but as many would agree, one feels a serious sense of responsibility for
everything that one has heard - fruits to God's glory must follow. May God help us.
It was a great joy to have Prof Peter Beyerhaus
with us again. His address at the Ministers' Conference was on theme of the 8th
European Congress of Confessing Christians (8. Europaeische Bekenntnis-Kongress) of the
International Conference of Confessing Communities (Internationale Konferenz Bekennender
Gemeinschaften) which will took place in Blankenburg, Thuringia, Germany in October
2006. His topic was 'The Place of martyrdom in Christendom past and present.'
Thankfully, Peter Rice and Hlakaniphani Ngidi are
back safely from the 2007 Association of Christian Broadcasters (ACB) Conference in
Namibia. They are blessed, challenged and raring to carry on with the good work.
After being a highly valuable member of my team
for over four months, Joel Schneider flies back to Switzerland today. He came over last
October to help out whilst his sister, my Swiss nurse Susanna was home for a holiday. Joel
returns home with his brother Christoph and a friend Markus who visited South Africa for a
few weeks. May God bless the Schneider family for their sacrificial support.
Remember the TAK Radio ministry in Berlin. This
afternoon, their guest will be Prof Werner Gitt who will be giving a Biblical perspective
on evolution.
A sweet personal story that was told by Dr Gerard
Olivier during the KwaSizabantu Ministers' Conference has stayed with me.
One day as he was seeing his 5-year old
daughter off to sleep she came up with one of those cute questions children sometimes
surprise us with. She wanted to know how many hands God has. Gerard looked beyond the
funny side of the question and saw a serious challenge in it. Yes, how many hands has God
got on earth - in you and me?
As paralysed as I am presently it is my prayer
that God will use my hands, feet and every other part of me as He wills.
'Then I heard the voice of the
Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here
am I. Send me!"'(Isaiah 6:8)
Have a blessed weekend further.
Pressing on!
In His love
