As you pray - 20 January 2007

My dear friends

We thank the Lord that Onkel Friedel and Tante Rita are back safely from Europe. Their ministry in South Africa and internationally is very precious to us.

Two brothers from Belgium, Daniel Schobben and Lionel Roosemont, leave today for the USA. They have been invited to a 10-day Pro-Life seminar in Washington that has been organised by the International Leadership Training Institute. Apart from numerous lectures they will be visiting leading pro-life and pro-family organisations and individuals. On Monday they will join the annual March for Life in Washington. They will value your prayers.

As you know, fierce storms have hit parts of Europe resulting in human and property loss. Dorothea Killus mentioned to me that in the midst of the havoc some people have told of miracles of God's intervention and protection. During such times we are reminded once again why we sing "I need Thee every hour."

Dorothea told me that Prof Peter and Mrs Ingagaerd Beyerhaus had planned to fly yesterday to England for the inception of their son-in-law, Rev Stephen Walton, into a parish. Regardless of the weather we wish Stephen, Gunilla, the children and the ministry God's blessing.

Julius Gumede and Lungi Zuma are getting married at KwaSizabantu tomorrow. We wish the young people God's blessing.

Lungi will be missed greatly at Radio Khwezi. Over the years she became a real asset for the station as a presenter, journalist and part of management. May the Lord be her reward.

We shall also be thinking of the Governing Body of Radio Khwezi as they will be meeting tomorrow to prayerfully deliberate on important amatters.

A song I heard for the first time on Radio Khwezi today captured my imagination. The theme of the song that is sung by a Swazi musical group is on a well-known brand of batteries - Everready. Ironically, even when a discarded powerless battery lies on a rubbish heap it will still claim that it is 'ever ready.'

The message of 'Everready' is that we should not be Christians by name only; our lives should testify of power and light from above.

"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

Have a blessed weekend.

Pressing on!

In His love

Fano Sibisi
