| My dear friends A visit by Thaba Gingqi today reminded me in a special way of the
ministry at Malelane in the Mpumalanga province. Thaba has just returned from Malelane.
We are thankful that after the accident at Malelane late last year John Powys is much
improved.
There is a great need for more facilities at Malelane.
Considering Onkel Robert Maeder's age we marvel at the strength the Lord has given him. He
is putting up building after building and his Swiss expertise serves him well.
As the Lord reminds us let us keep praying for Malelane.
Our prayers are with Gideon Jacobs from Smithfield. He is
taking services in the Dutch Reformed Church in Bloemhof since Sunday morning. This is the
church's week of prayer and Gideon has been asked to share the Word every evening till
Thursday. Gideon's prayer is that the Lord will reveal Himself.
Our prayers will also be with the members of the Board of
the Association of Christian Broadcasters (ACB) as they will be meeting in Johannesburg on
Thursday; their last meeting before the ACB 2007 Conference in Namibia from 5-8 March.
Peter Rice will be travelling to Johannesburg for Thursday's meeting.
At Radio Khwezi we have also started the new year with new
challenges. Pray with us that the Lord would lead us every step of the way.
Yesterday, Bruno Hlongwane came by with three ladies from
Belgium who are visiting KwaSizabantu. Even though they have become Belgian citizens it
soon became clear that part of their heart is in the country of their birth, the
Democratic Republic of Congo. As we chatted my heart went out to the two countries,
Belgium and the DRC. How we all need God's grace and mercy for our countries!
Undoubtedly, there is a lot of excitement in many South
African families in the provinces like KwaZulu-Natal where school begins tomorrow. My
thoughts today are with the little people who will be starting their school career
tomorrow. By many the novelty wears off after a few days. It is beyond them to grasp that
they have just embarked on a commitment that will last for twelve years - and possibly
even longer. Remember them.
"Pray without ceasing." (1 Th
5:17)
Have a blessed week.
Pressing on!
In His love
