(and see June 2008 picture gallery)

Dear Friends of Fano Sibisi

Special prayer for Fano on 14 and 15 June 2008

For nearly eight years now, Fano Sibisi has been courageously battling the degenerative Motor Neuron Disease. Those who know him, know that he loves, prays for and inspires Christians and unknown strangers across the world. His love for his Saviour can clearly be seen in all he communicates, and through His grace, Fano keeps pressing on.

Again, we invite everybody to join in special prayers for our beloved brother Fano, his wife Lindiwe and their children. We also want to encourage you to think of every member of his support team and the medical team in your prayers. A letter from Fano follows below.

Please join in prayer during the weekend of 14 & 15 June, and especially during your Sunday morning service.

Kjell Olsen, Johannes Wunderlich , Harald Thiede
PS: It so happens that Fano's birthday is on 15 June when he will turn 51 years of age. If you would like to send birthday greetings please email him at: fano@cft.org.za

Letter from Fano:

My dear friends

Greetings to you and your families.

When I heard that there was a suggestion for another prayer day for me I was moved. As my brother remarked not so long ago, it is indeed amazing that after all the years of illness my friends have not forgotten me. Again, thank you very much for your undying support. God bless you.

In praying for me, we owe it to God to thank Him for the miracle of sustenance during the last 7-8 years. As you know, I am a 'medical write-off' and not quite an ideal client for medical insurance.

Thank God for my support team who have stuck with me through thick and thin. I am well aware that it must be quite a challenge for them to keep going daily. Remember them before the Lord.

The cold weather that accompanies the winter season is heavy on my weak body. I am thankful for the warm clothes, blankets and heaters that are used to keep me warm.

Humanly-speaking, all that could be done about the problem of excessive salivation has been done. We look to the Great Physician.

The general weakness of the body is a prayer matter but the eyes deserve special mention. MND works in 'waves;' some days come with a pleasant flow whilst on others I have to fight off the frustration of struggling to get anything done.

Thank you for the prayer support.

Pressing on!

In His love

Fano
