The positive message presented by True Love Waits continues to
prove its success in South Africa, and other parts of the world. Over 310,000 South
African teens and young adults have signed a pledge of no sex before marriage. The
commitment made on these pledges is not just a signature but a detailed promise, with the
person's name and address, to remain abstinent till marriage.
The first day of December is commemorated as World Aids Day. The
answer to Aids is very straight forward and works every time, "no sex outside of
marriage". True Love Waits believes that for teens to lead successful lives of purity
they need to see it in their homes. Teens need the example and security of parents who are
sexually faithful.
The latest report from the Joint United Nations Programme on
HIV/Aids (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) states that 14,000 people
contract HIV every day and that Southern Africa is the hardest hit. This bleak picture is
not improved by thrusting condoms upon our young people. No matter how many millions are
invested in massive billboards advocating condoms, it is still an obvious fact that only a
complete change of sexual lifestyle will change the awful pandemic of death.
