CFT & Stanger churches pro-life march on Saturday 28 January 2006
Hundreds of CFT members and friends from local churches in KwaDukuza/Stanger (on
the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast) joined the 2 hour procession against abortion, on Saturday
morning.
The following Memorandum was handed over to KwaDukuza Councillor Ntuli (who will hand it
over to the Mayor and colleagues) as well as the Stanger Hospital Superintendent Dr
Mansfield:
On 1 February 2006, abortion on demand will have been legal in South Africa
for 9 years. This has resulted in over 500 000 South African children having their lives
snuffed out with government consent. We are handing over this memorandum on behalf of
local churches and organisations of KwaDukuza/Stanger to indicate the fact that the
majority of South Africans still reject abortion on demand. We call on our authorities to
protect the most basic human right, which is life itself.
This protest in KwaDukuza is part of a number of Pro-Life actions happening across the
country this weekend. Many churches will commemorate Sunday as Sanctity Life Sunday in
memory of a half million children who have been aborted over the last 9 years.
It is the duty of the KwaDukuza community leaders to ensure that our area is safe for
children, including unborn babies. We take note of those political parties who are unclear
concerning their stance on abortion.
