On Sunday, 30 Jan 2005, approximately 300 people gathered from
different Church denominations to mourn the death of more than 400 000 babies killed by
abortion since 1 Feb 1997, when abortion was legalised in South Africa.
CFT Dolphin Coast Life Chain Committee arranged the Life Chain,
which took place in front of the Life Style Center, Ballito, from 14:30 - 15:30.
By this stand the local Christians mourned the murder of pre-born
boys and girls, as well as the exploitation of their mothers by the abortion industry.
Uniform signs were displayed, such as 'Abortion kills babies',
'Abortion harms women', and 'Abortion: one killed - one wounded'.
On Tuesday, 1st February, Africa Christian Action will be holding
a prayer vigil outside the gates of Parliament (at the corner of Roeland and Plein
Streets) from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. A short memorial service and wreath laying ceremony will
be held in memory of the babies legally killed by abortion in South Africa since 1997.
This will be preceeded by a solemn funeral procession to Parliament. (The procession will
gather at the Kaisergracht parking lot below the Cape Technikon and march down Darling
street into Adderly street. Meet at the Kaisergracht road by 12:30pm.)
Our Lord wants us to choose and proclaim life over the modern day
tragic culture of death.
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my
mothers womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works
are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven
together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained
for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." (Psalm 139:13-16)
